3. Sealing. Once the structure is confirmed empty, every entry point, down to the smallest hole, is sealed. CDC’s guidance is explicit that ultrasonic devices and chemical repellents do not work for bats; physical exclusion is the method that does.
4. Remediation. Contaminated guano and insulation are removed and the area sanitized by trained personnel using proper containment and PPE, closing out the health risk.

Bats are protected wildlife, the timing rules are strict, and the health consequences of doing it wrong are real.
